If you have a project around your home that you need to use an air compressor for, and you plan on renting one to use, make sure that you brush up on your air compressor safety knowledge.

#1 Cover Up Your Body

The first thing you need to do is make sure that your body is covered up. You should wear a long sleeve shirt and pants when using an air compressor. You should also wear protective eyewear and a face mask. Additionally, air compressors can be really loud, so you should invest in some earplugs to protect your hearing.

#2 Don't Manipulate The Hose When In Use

Second, you should not manipulate the line when you are using it. Make sure that the line is straight at all times. You should not stretch, twist or try to navigate the line around anything. If you need to get the line somewhere else, unplug the entire unit and move it, do not manipulate the line. You don't want it to break while you are using it.

#3 Keep A Firm Grip

Third, make sure that you keep a firm grip on the air compressor. You should always keep your hands on the air compressor when you are using it. Do not try to accomplish other tasks when you are using the air compressor. Both your hands and your focus should be on the air compressor that you are manipulating and moving. Air compressors are strong, and you don't want to lose control of it.

#4 Use A Safe Electrical Outlet

Fourth, make sure that you are using a safe, grounded outlet. Do not use an outlet that you know has faulty wiring or cannot handle the electrical output. You do not want to short out the air compressor nor do you want to cause an electrical fire.

#5 Never Try To Breath The Air

Fifth, you should never try to breath air through the air compressor hose. The air that is coming through the hose is going through with a great deal of force. If you put your mouth on the air compressor, you could seriously injure your throat.

#6 Stay Back

Finally, make sure that everyone else in your household knows that the air compressor is a serious piece of equipment and that they should stay back when you are using the air compressor. If you have small kids, make sure that they are not around when you are using it. If you have pets, make sure they are put away somewhere when you are using the air compressor.

Make sure that you and anyone in your home who will be around when you are using air compressor rentals, reviews the safety tips above; you don't want anyone to get injured when you are just trying to get a job done.
